"You will be. You practically are," she murmurs fondly, rubbing his arm slowly. "But I would like to sign my name as Fraser."

"I want that for ye," he says with a soft smile, stroking the apple of her cheek.

"Claire Elizabeth Fraser," Jamie breathes out, kissing her again softly.

"And then what, Mr. Fraser, once we've married? Will you grow tired of me?"

She smiles so happily and widely that it's impossible to mistake her teasing.

Jamie lets out one loud laugh.

"Let me tell ye something. If I ever seem tired of ye, take me to a hospital immediately."

It feels like ages since he's laughed like that, and she laughs, too.

"You're so silly."

If anyone was going to make him laugh that way, it was going to be her.

“Am I?” he asks as he kisses her neck. “Too silly?”

"The perfect amount of silly, for you. I wouldn't have you any other way. It's part of your charm," she purrs, always fond of his lips on her neck.

"So. Where do we go to get married, now?"

I suppose we go to the magistrate," he decides, nosing into her hair now as his hand rubs up and down her back idly.

"Wherever we wind up, in any case."

"Sounds like we're just getting in the car and seeing where a tank of gas get us," she sighs happily, trying to cuddle in closer without draping her leg over his. She misses doing that, but doesn't want to hurt him.

"Are ye truly alright wi' that?" he asks softly, pushing curls behind her ear.

Then, he reaches down, tugging her body very nearly halfway on top of his--she won't hurt him, and he wants her closer.

"How many times must I tell you, hmm?" She smiles, kissing him. The move has her letting out a little squeak, and she's sure her leg doesn't put weight on his healing one, but she eagerly snuggles in closer with a happy hum.

"I ken, but we only plan to do this once. I want it to be special for ye," he admits. It's important to him, and he presses a soft kiss to her forehead.

"I'm marrying the man of my dreams. It's special," she promises, smiling. "It's literally all that matters to me."

Jamie holds her gaze, then pulls her into a kiss that has his tongue doing filthy things against hers as he pulls her right over him.

He's aware of where her hand was traveling earlier.

Then I have to tell ye, I cannae wait to be yer husband, Sassenach."

Claire moans, the kiss alone enough to make her melt, but she does laugh after a moment.

"Is that all it takes to get you to go from sweet to filthy?"

Jamie grins again.

"Oh, aye. Callin' ye my wife, knowing forever you'll be mine. This is a life I only want wi' ye," he murmurs, kissing her again.

"I'm already yours forever," she reminds him, kissing him back.

"Then I'm eager to make it official," he decides, raising his head just enough to kiss her chest.

"And start a family," she supplies. "In some manner."

Jamie's eyes soften and he smiles, stroking her cheek tenderly.

"In some manner. Whatever way fits for us, Sassenach," he promises. Whatever it looks like, he wants that with her, everything.

"Mm. Either way, I haven't taken my birth control in a week," she murmurs quietly. Given that they were supposed to be wed soon, and she doubts he would mind having a child in the immediately future, she thought it best to start getting int out of her system.

"We'll see what happens."

"No pressure," he promises, then draws her into a soft, more tender kiss.

He truly means it, that she doesn't need to feel its all on her body.

"I know," she whispers, kissing him with just as much tenderness, fingers in his hair. "Maybe I'm just impatient."

"Weel, should we have some practice, then?" he asks, mind thoroughly distracted by the woman on top of him.

She's doing a very good job.

"It sounds like a good idea. I do want to make love to you, Jamie Fraser," she tells him, kissing his jaw. He'd gotten carried away and distracted her quite well when they came into this room, when all she wanted was to take his mind off his grief.

"Do you want me?"
